What are the typographic points in the various systems?

In the times of traditional typesetting, there were two systems of typographical measurements in use worldwide: the Didot system and the Pica system. Today, the PostScript system is widely used.

The Didot system is one of the typographical measurement systems that was widely used in Europe, except for the United Kingdom. One typographical point in the Didot system is equal to 1/2660 of a metre, which is approximately 0.3759 mm.

On the other hand, the Pica system, primarily used in the United Kingdom and the USA, defines a typographical point as 1/72 of an inch, which is equivalent to about 0.3528 mm.

PostScript, meanwhile, is a popular file format used in the printing industry and computer environments for storing and exchanging typographical and graphic data.
